Sewing Shears

Owning a good pair of shears is necessary if you plan to cut a lot of fabrics for making your rugs. You will find a variety of shears, with each one performing what they are meant to accomplish.

Pinking Shears

Excellent for cutting when you prefer the edges not to fray. Work very well with knits. They also create a nice zig-zag edge for fabrics you wish to leave unhemmed.

Left Handed Shears

If you are left handed, there is nothing more difficult to use then a pair of shears not meant for lefties. The thumb area of the shears must slant in the right direction to make cutting easy. If you happen to know someone who is left handed, this is a "Great' gift idea.
