Penny Rug Patterns

Try your hand at creating different Penny Rugs using a unique pattern presented from several designers. You can go very basic, or get very creative by completing a more difficult pattern requiring lots of interesting stitching.

A penny rug to hang or use in the form of placemats, runners and mug mats are perfect for gift giving, but they also make wonderful rememberence items. My grandmother made small versions of old patterns and placed them as inserts in her card making. I still treasure that card to this day.

As Penny Rug making grew in popularity over the past couple of years, the patterns have been surfacing quickly. You can find single item patterns to make over and over, or you could purchase pattern books and create a lot of different sizes and style of penny rugs. We have a couple examples below, but there are tons of books and patterns available, which you are welcome to search to find one that works for you!
